eBERlight User Program

Work with us

Researchers can access beamlines and other resources by registering with APS and submitting a proposal through the Universal Proposal System (UPS).

When applying, please include “eBERlight” in your proposal title. eBERlight staff works closely with users to fulfill the APS/DOE requirements regarding operation, training, safety practices, and shipping of samples for experiments. Engaging with the staff for assistance prior to proposal submission is recommended.

Feasibility studies

We offer beamtime for feasibility studies to interested researchers. This opportunity provides a unique chance to test experimental setups and gather information for full-scope beamtime proposal preparation.

APS

The APS 2024-3 proposal call is open for select beamlines.

Proposals submitted to the eBERlight call are open to scientists focusing on areas aligned with the DOE-BER mission. This includes biological, geological, geochemical and environmental sciences, to address existing and new scientific challenges.

Users who do not have an APS/Argonne badge must register as new user before creating a profile in the UPS. The APS User Checklist gives step-by-step instructions for users. Register as APS user here

Users who already have an APS/Argonne badge number can log into the UPS platform, create a profile, and submit proposals. View detailed login instructions on how to access your UPS dashboard. Create UPS profile here
